Resource Centre Burnt Down

Whoever burnt down the Resouce Centre almost exactly 20 years ago in October 1980 not only put paid to a community centre but also a lot of equipment belonging to the bands, the rehearsal spaces and virtually everything else that was in the building.

Some said it was the National Front but after a cursory police investigation no-one was any the wiser and it remains a mystery to this day. The result was that many of the Vault bands now had nowhere to practice. This coincided with the release of the third and last Attrix album, Vaultage 80. And with the Attrix Shop closing down as well, it signalled the end of an era.

Many thanks to Alan St.Paul for the photo of Tom at the Resource Centre.
