Dots Peel Session + more Lemon Boys, Lubes and Executives mp3's
punkdaddy writes: And so another festive season comes and goes, ushering in the New Year with all the attendant cavorting, on top of all the eating, drinking, smoking, dancing your socks off, slinging another yuletide log on the fire and chilling to the sounds of the seventies with punkbrighton. Not bad.
Yes we've got some more goodies to delight you, kicking off 2009 with an exclusive recorded BBC John Peel session from Nicky & the Dots. This is the first time this session has seen the light of day since it was first broadcast back in August 1979. Three of the four tracks were never recorded to vinyl but this is a first airing on punkbrighton. Thanks to Stewy for unearthing them.
Our intrepid correspondent also found an original handwritten message from Rick Blair to Attrix Producer Terry Newbery, an ancient artefact reproduced here in all its digital glory. Plus we've more tracks from Jewel Shines Darkly (offshoot of Midnight & the Lemon Boys) and a couple of bonus tracks from Jonny & the Lubes and the Executives. And another track from Emma Sharpe. Blimey, is there still more?
The Dots' Peels session and JSD tracks can be located on their respective pages, while The Lubes and the Execs have been added to our punkbrighton Jukebox. I've also updated the cover sleeve for those of you who might wish to burn your own punkbrighton CD from the featured tracks on the Jukebox. Follow the links in the section below this text. Happy New Year and Up Yours!
